4 NEW EVENTS ANNOUNCED FOR AUGUST, OCTOBER!

I’m excited to announce I have three more events coming up in the next few months including an appearance at a summer festival in historic Warm Springs and teaching a class sponsored by the Fayette Library and Georgia Humanities Council.

Here is a quick look.

Hometown Novel Nights: Journalists

With Newnan Carnegie Library

Thursday, Aug. 19 6:30 p.m.

I’ll be part of a panel with two other journalists who became authors as we relate our stories along the journey. Damon Poirier, an ascending talent in the short fiction scene, will be featured as well. The event is virtual via Zoom so anyone can drop in wherever you hail from. You just need to register via the link here.

Warm Springs Summer Fest

Warm Springs Cellar

Saturday, Aug. 28 2 to 5 p.m.

Celebrate summer with Georgia’s most delicious and unique wine selection paired with its favorite artists, authors and musicians at the Warm Springs Cellar on Aug. 28 from 2 to 5 p.m.

Located in historic Warm Springs, the Warm Springs Cellar is hosting its inaugural summer festival.

The event will feature tastings from celebrated Georgia winery, Five Point Berries Wine. Based out of Mauk, Ga. the winery is renowned for its blueberry-based varietals.

This should be a ball. I’ll be at the event spinning tales and pontificating on the best of Georgia and any other related or non related subjects. T.M. Brown, author of the celebrated Shiloh Mystery Series, will also be part of the event and has promised to keep a close eye on me.

Visual artists featured include American Impressionist Vinayak Godbole

Music will be performed by the sweet sounds of The Sidemen.

The event is co-sponsored by Hometown Novel Nights, a program bringing local authors and book-lovers together focused on the talent-rich Fayetteville to Columbus I-85/185 Corridor.

Warm Springs Cellar offers a selection of Georgia’s finest wine, craft beer, coffee, and tea, which you can enjoy with select farm cheeses, chocolates, or pastries.

It is located at 11 Roosevelt Walk, Shop #1 in Warm Springs, GA 31830.

Fayette Library

Oct. 16

Time TBA

I will be teaching a one and a half class on truth telling in writing. The class is titled, “Speak what we feel, not what we ought to say,” and is inspired by that couplet that Edgar utters in, “King Lear.”

Final details are being ironed out, but will be announced soon as this class is part of a greater set of programming for the library’s fall schedule.
